Local Wiltshire UK landscapes through the seasons, Constantly updated by month.
I come from a fine art, illustration and very occasional photography career background (though music has always been my main obsession), with running and increasingly cycling being my long term physical addictions and sanity preservers (along with the guitars and old motorbikes..).

After a few months though, I also started to occasionally take a Micro Four Thirds camera (which still counts as a small sensor in my book), it just about proving wieldy enough to plod agedly up the hills with, whilst giving the full conventional and satisfyingly tactile control that I miss on the phones - with their lack of the more traditional physical buttons, dials and multiple settings - though you do still have the ability to shape the output to a reasonable degree, and increasingly so as phone cams get more sophisticated - a different approach for camera or phone. Pluses and minuses on both sides.
A rolling diary of photos (and a few photo animations) taken whilst out running and cycling in the Grovely Wood area of Wiltshire UK, recording the changing seasons, colour and light, plus whatever catches my eye. A personal project, but hopefully there might be a few images of some interest to other people.
Why the site name? The cameras used initially were those in whichever phone I had at the time (so - small sensors), mostly Google Pixels. Simply down to phones being the easier option compared to lugging much larger and heavier dedicated cameras and lenses on a run! I have my phone with me anyway, so the old photography truism of 'your best camera is the one you have with you' definitely applies.

There are a lot of images on this site, so to avoid sky/cloud/tree/bird/hedge/flower indigestion - maybe best to not consume at a single sitting!
And yes, the same views/trees/paths etc crop up frequently, but the light and colours do change with the season (and moment), which is the point after all.
There are and will also be other sections on the site, including earlier photos, and touching on areas of interest as I see fit, and randomly added and removed over time - the common thread being the use of phones and more compact cameras. This does mean that if you are looking for technically flawless silken images with no visible noise or artifacts, then this site is probably not for you; they are what they are. Having said that, the continuing improvements in tech - particularly phone cameras as already mentioned - means that this will probably become less of an issue going forward.
